These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of MetConnect LDA’s website and the provision of our services (immigration assistance, relocation support, real estate and financial services, etc.). By visiting our website or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms in full. Please read them carefully and do not use our site or services if you do not agree. Like other firms, we operate under Portuguese law and resolve disputes in Portuguese courts.
Provision of Services
MetConnect provides consulting and assistance in areas such as residency visas, property acquisition, banking and investment in Portugal. Our website and any service descriptions or proposals we provide are for informational purposes. All services are performed with reasonable skill and care, but we do not guarantee specific outcomes (for example, visa approval or investment returns). You understand that ultimate decisions (such as visa issuance) rest with the authorities or third parties, and MetConnect’s role is advisory and facilitative only.
Your Responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information when you engage our services or register on our website. You are responsible for gathering any required documents (passports, financial statements, etc.) and for complying with Portuguese laws and procedures. You must keep your account credentials (if any) confidential and notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. You must not use our website or services for any unlawful purposes or in violation of any applicable rules. In short, trust us to guide you, but you are responsible for following through on your own commitments and legal obligations.
Booking, Fees and Payment
Fees for our services will be communicated to you in advance (for example, in a proposal or invoice). Fees may include fixed service charges, hourly rates, or fees to third parties (such as government application fees, which we typically pass through). Payment is generally due upfront or as agreed in writing. We accept payment by bank transfer or other methods as specified. If you delay payment, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate services. This follows standard practice: many consultancy terms state that payment is due upon invoice and overdue accounts may incur interest
Refunds and Cancellations
We strive to serve every client successfully. If MetConnect fails to provide a service that was paid for, we will refund the fee for that specific service. However, if a service cannot be completed due to reasons beyond our control (for example, you withdraw, fail to provide necessary documents, or change your plans), fees paid are generally non-refundable. In the event of cancellation by either party, any prepaid fees for unused services will be handled on a case-by-case basis. To illustrate industry norms, one competitor’s terms promise a full refund only if failure is due to the provider, and no refund if the client changes their mind; another firm simply states they “shall be under no obligation to refund any fee payments we may have received”. We will follow the approach in our service agreement or invoice for refunds.
Limitation of Liability
You acknowledge and agree that MetConnect’s liability is limited. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of our website or services. Our maximum liability for any claim will not exceed the total fees you have paid for the service in question. For example, our engagement letters provide that we will perform services with care but will not be responsible for losses from incorrect information supplied by you. Similarly, our website content is provided “as is” and for informational purposes only. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any information on our site, and we disclaim any warranties (as noted by other firms).
Intellectual Property
All content on our website and in our service materials (text, graphics, logos, designs, etc.) is the property of MetConnect or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. You may view and download content only for your personal, non-commercial use. You must not copy, distribute, or use any content except as expressly permitted by us. If you share any testimonials or feedback, you grant us a license to use that content for marketing.
